There are no set guidelines as to when a property will require a full or partial rewire. Just because your wiring is old, it doesn’t mean that it is unsafe. Many factors can affect the wear and tear of your electrical installation, including the materials used and how your property has been used.
A full domestic rewire means completely replacing the existing circuits in your property. This could be the entire socket or lighting electrical. Rewiring your home will involve changing some or perhaps all the components of your home electrical system. This could include your circuits, sockets and consumer units. However, a full rewire will only be carried out by our recommended electricians when it’s necessary.
This kind of work does involve a degree of disruption as electrical cabling would need to be channeled in the walls, so some plastering and decorating may be required afterwards.
